not trying the step on toes here but there are so many good guns on the market its best to go to a range that lets you rent guns like bullseye in tacoma for example just to get a feel for what you like one person who says one gun is the best could be crap to another! like what was said before chevy VS. Ford

I've had my XD compact 4" .45 for about three weeks and have shot 500 rounds through it. I love it. Easy to shoot straight, not a lot of kick, no jams or misfires.

I agree with whats been said above, shoot them all then make your own persoanl choice.  All are good guns, but they are like saying Swarovski vs. Leica vs. Zeiss.  Your gonna hear from each guy why his is better than the others, but that one might not fit you well at all.  Try them all.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

I don't the think you could go wrong with any of the choices the only one i have experience with is the Glock great accuracy never a ftf or jam or any malfunction for that matter. having said that i hate glocks for the way they feel to me top heavy ,recoil feels weird and the ergonomics are akin to a brick but atleast they will always go bang and hit what you aim at. good luck with your decision :)

its already been mentioned many times so here it is again.  Try them all out and decide which one fits you or....just by them all!  While still an LEO my duty weapon was my personal weapon, Glock 21.  Good luck with your selection either way your going to have a hell of a pistol.

Good advice already given above but maybe I can help.  I tried them all and went in wanting an XD.  Ended up buying a M&P mostly because it felt the best in the hand.  Have fun trying them all out.  I believe I sampled them all out at Bullseye.  Good luck.

The only time I would say my XD's are top heavy is when the mag is empty, and I assume you don't plan to carry with an empty mag   :chuckle:

I have an MP40c and I think its a good gun - just not my style. I have never liked the looks or feel of the Glocks and I'm not a fan of the XD's much either. My buddy has and XD and he swears by it, dont like the feel myself. I am just not a big fan of these types of guns, striker-fired types. I much more prefer a 1911, exposed hammer style. Plus I dont like the 'boxy' look. Honestly I havent fired many rds thru my MP, maybe 50 at the very most - probably more like 25 - but I didnt have any problems at all and I do like the feel of the trigger. It just sits in my safe all the time, I never carry it either.

I have thought about selling/trading it a few times and more recently now that I am thinking about getting a trap gun - but I dont like to get rid of my firearms at all. I'd rather keep them in my 'collection' even if I'll never shoot them. I recently sold one of my Colt Mustangs and used the money for a Howa Axiom, I love the rifle but regret selling the Colt. I have another one, but it is stainless, not blue like the one I sold. The only other guns I've gotten rid of was a Ruger Mini-30 and Ruger P90 years ago - and I STILL regret it even though I hated the P90! Silly I know. And kinda off topic....sorry!  :dunno:
I aint superstitious - cuz its bad luck!

All of the above are good guns, anything else is just personal preference. I prefer the feel of my XD .40 4 in. in my hand. But I also loved my Glock, and my Kimber.
Does your hand prefer a double stack?
Safeties?
You can't go wrong with either no matter what any of us tell you.

XDM 40 all they way 16+1 and the best semi auto on the market. Period! I have shot them all and can own any of them. But I trust my life every day to my xdm 40. The m&p 2ND " they are a very good gun" but I have found the ones that I have shot to be picky on ammo. You could not pay me to own a glock. I have shot a dz or more of them and never liked the fit or the groups that I have got from them. Plus had more malfunctions with glocks. I have run a little over 1k rounds threw my xdm and not had 1 malfunction or problem.

Many many many people and many many law enforcement officers will argue your statement. Plain and simple. This is like a Chevy vs. Ford discussion.
Look at the L.E. agencies using the Glock worldwide.
