War Birds - 300 WSM 185 Berger VLD
« on: April 22, 2011, 10:24:08 AM »
Figured I would share a picture of my "War Birds" :) and what they do to paper.. when I come back from my MT spring bear hunt next week, hopefully I will show what they do to an animal!

300 WSM, 185 Berger VLD, Winchester Nickle Plated Brass, IMR 4350 60.4 grains, Federal 215 GMM Mag Primer, 3050 fps (chrony'd), OAL = 2.88 (seated -0.02 from the lands)

Rifle is Weatherby Vanguard (Howa) Sub MOA.

Wish me luck :)

That's reserved for the "big boy" off all the 30 cals, the "308 Warbird" -- by Lazzeroni.

Good looking loads and shooting, hope they do a number on a Montana bear for you.  Where you headed for bears next week?  Still lots of snow in montana.

You can buy a Sako TRGS for quite a bit cheaper than 6K.  Also, Savage built them for a couple years for Lazzeroni.  Definately the big dog of the 30 cals.  I've seen quite a few scope-whacks from them!

Yeah it is breaking, but most of my old bear haunts back home in the Flathead are still under 4 feet of snow.  Will be memorial day before I head back and see if we can find one for Dad.
