More Blacktails
« on: May 30, 2011, 09:58:09 PM »
Checked one of my trail cams today, after 4 weeks. The last time I got a buck with new antler growth just beginning to show. This time it's definitely a lot easier to tell the bucks from the does. I'm not sure if I'm getting pictures of just one buck, or two. I need to think about trying some sort of bait so I can get more, and better, pictures.

There's also a picture that appears to be a doe with two fawns. It's slightly blurry from movement and pictures from this camera aren't the best anyway, so it's kind of hard to tell for sure, but I think that's what I'm seeing. I was kind of surprised to see this, because how much do newborn fawns actually walk around with the mother? I always thought she kept the fawns hidden somewhere for the first couple of weeks.

(the times are correct but the AM/PM is not)

looks like two different bucks to me.  The top one looks to have a more mature body, the other two buck photos look like a younger deer.  Should be fun to watch them grow!  Not sure about the doe/fawn, weird looking picture
If you dont do it this year, you'll be one year older when you do!
