elk for lunch
« on: April 25, 2011, 12:44:59 PM »
I am sitting here eating some ground elk quesadillas and it got me thinking about how much I love elk! This weekend we had some elk steaks on the bbq that were amazing too.  Pretty sure I could eat it every day.

Between the elk, deer, halibut, salmon, cod, clams, shrimp, turkey and grouse we get throughout the year, I have not bought meat in 7-8 years. I'm probably the last person you will ever hear complain about license fees in WA. I definitely get a large return on my license fees. And yes, I love eating all of it. Learning to cook the wild meat is the key.

Too funny.  My wife will not eat store bought beef hamburger anymore, says it tastes rotten to her.  We eat nothing but venison burger that we grind ourselves.  And then there's the fresh, fried razor clams lately.  Man those are good.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice
