Hunting from the "Throne"
« on: April 26, 2011, 12:39:03 PM »
So there I was perched on my throne this morning when I heard out in the front yard a turkey gobbling its head off. I quickly finished my business, got dressed and snuck out the basement door (to the back yard) and into the garage to get my shotgun which was in my truck. Then I quietly opened the door that leads to the front of the house. The turkey was standing 14 yards away when I blasted him. Not much of a hunt but then I have had many excrutiantingly hard hunts in the past for various animals so I am not too ashamed. That turkey should have known better than to come strutting his stuff in my yard  :bdid:

Heck Ya, I will take an easy one now and then. I killed a Jake in 1995 and again in 1996. Have not really hunted them seriously since then as I have focused more on spring bear and just hiking and scouting for spring bear. Now that I live in an area with lots of turkeys I hope to get at least one per season. This is the first mature Tom I have taken.
