little help
« on: April 27, 2011, 05:09:10 PM »
I'm doing a job down in hermiston Oregon right now, and was hoping to do some turkey hunting on the weekends.  Just wondering if anybody knows anywhere to go close to here in Washington. Not asking for specifics or anything, I'm definitely not one of those guys that expects other ppl to do all the  scouting and put in the time and then just tell me where to go. Just looking for a general area where there is enough public land that I dont have to worry about ranchers chasing me off. Or somewhere I can get some decent maps. Thanks

Look at Klickitat/Goldendale Area or the walla Walla/Blue Mountain Area.  Go to GoHUnt on WDFW website for online mapping.  THere is public land in both areas..just need to get there and start locating birds.  Get a Wa Gazateer too that will show oyu where the USFS prop. is.  YOu can always look up both locations on this site and review past threads for more info.
Wild Turkey, Walleyes, Whitetails and Wapiti..These are a few of my favorite things!!

Thanks for the info, I normally hunt the klickitat area, I was hoping for something a little closer that I could get some evening hunts in after work. I will look into those websites and do some reading
