Years ago I seen two Blacktails or Muley/Blacktail cross near Rock Creek campground going up the Loup Loup. Brown coat, Blacktail tail and darker face.

My Dad and I were both surprised to see them anywhere in Okanogan. Dad said to me that they must have wanted to go on a walkabout. LOL  :chuckle:

I think a lot of people are too quick to cry hybrid over the internet.
You could post a pic of a big buck from Neah Bay and it wouldn't be long before someone's saying "looks like a benchleg to me."

Tough call of coarse everyone is going to have an opinion. Alot of factors to take in account and just a head and horns is not going to do it.

What were the teeth like? Its either an older Blacktail,/benchleg, or a young mule deer. From what I can see my vote would be for young mule deer.

Mule deer, the only way it could be a cross in the Naneum is if someone planted some blacktail up there and I seriously doubt that. I've seen an area where mule deer were planted in blacktail country and within a couple generations their genes disappeared back into the blacktail.
