Propane Peet Boot Dryer A Must Have
« on: April 28, 2011, 02:45:30 PM »
While I was reading some of the responses about what a 1st time hunter should make sure he had to make his 1st trip right, I was reminded of one of my first NW hunts (a long time ago), and wet boots. Since then, I got hold of a propane Peet boot dryer. We tent camp and it's great to have dry, warm boots even when there's no power available.

They go for around $60 and worth five times that about 5 or 6 days into the hunt when you still always have dry boots. It works on a really tiny flame and I've never had a $2 propane bottle run out in 10 days every year.

Good to hear - I bought one over the winter on sale but have yet to use it.  It's sitting in my garage just waiting for it's chance.  I do have the electric boot dryer and the thing is great.  I've had it for years and it just keeps on ticking along.

The propane one should last for about 6-8 years. There's nothing like it in a tent camp.

It works on a really tiny flame and I've never had a $2 propane bottle run out in 10 days every year.
If you're using this every night for 10 days, I will guarantee you go through a bottle of propane.  I went through a bottle in less that 2 nights.

I've bought 2 over the last few years and returned both of them.  Big POS in my opinion.  Neither one of them worked right and and when I returned the 2nd one, the guy at Sportsmans Warehouse told me he had so many of them returned, that he took them off their order list.  I love my other Peet boot dryers, and sure wish these would have worked out better.

Well, you may have had some bad ones. I've got no reason to lie about how long the propane lasts.  I represent neither Peet nor the propane industry. For me, the propane dryer has worked very well.

The ones we have had worked well too....  :dunno:
