Opener at Mineral Lake :)

im going to minerial lake for opener this weekend and dont know if its a good lake anyone can tell me if it is or not, and if not were to go.

It should be just like it always is on opener, hopefully you won't get the same crowds with this weather and the gas prices.  I sure miss the days when you could camp around the other side of the lake, my buddies and I used to party hard on those openers. Good memories

get there by 2am is my advice. midnight even better. take the boat out, anchor and nap. careful where ya park, they are tow happy.

Mineral is still a great lake but its just plain stupid out their opening weekend!  I'd fish somewhere else and hit it in a week or two.   :twocents:

thanks for all the help, and tips and yeh they are tow happy been there before it happened. :bash: but never been there on opener i guess if its too crowded gunna have to push my way through  :IBCOOL: but anyways good luck fishen to all you

I haven't been there in years on opening day, sounds like it hasn't changed much.  That place is a blast opening weekend if your young and want to party all night, don't stay in the campground if you want to sleep.

I grew up right there and if you want to fish,I would go on a different day.If you want to party or deal with a bunch of drunks tomorrow will be a great day.

I love Mineral on opener. You can jump from boat to boat get beer after beer and fish the whole way!!! I will be the guy with the beer hat on!!!
