My suspicion is that they would like to keep the number of days that the forest service guys have to be there for entry and exit to a minimum
I believe that this year they changed it to where you are allowed 2 helpers for recovery...I think.
You could always put in for a ghost draw until you have enough points and then when you get a multi season elk tag then apply for the watershed and you can hunt using whatever weapon.
Quote from: piledup on April 29, 2011, 10:35:00 AMSo I noticed that the watershed unit is open only during rifle season and it includes all three weapon types in that single season. So my question is if Im drawing the watershed unit for archery and get drawn, am I limited to using archery only or can I use a rifle? This is for quality elk special permits.Whatever tag you have determines what you can use.

That unit is crazy steep, unless you are in great shape or have stock I wouldn't bother. It's a beautiful area, we looked down into it when my friend had a wenaha tag and I'm glad I saw it so I new not to put in for it.
Oh, and by the way Bob, I thought you'd be the last one to get the terms "tag," "license" and "permit" mixed up. You say "there are 45 tags for hunt 2005." Well, those aren't tags, they are permits. Your tag is the document that you purchase, and choose which hunting method you want. It seems that in your post you called the tag a "license." Did you really type that or is somebody impersonating you?
