Butterflies....lets see them

I'm going to sticky this one for awhile.  Give you guys trapped at home because th eMrs won't let you get out something to do, or you can't afford to put gas in the big truck.    Lets see your butterfly shots......amateur to pro.  No matter.  I got one yesterday, I'll add it as soon as I get a chance.  I'm sure there are mountain ones, westside ones, exotic ones.  No matter how common.

i was out mowing and kept seeing these things so i'd thought i give it a try, this is the only one i got and its kinda blurry

Good try.  The color is cool.  Maybe if he ever holds still long enough.   Is that one of those "hummingbird moths".  I have those too, and haven't come up with any shots yet.

nah its a monarch, i had him then as i took the pic he flew off and thats how it turned out. im guna try and get some more, kinda bored and this is keepin me intertained

just looked them up, maybe it isnt a monarch the wings look similar but body isnt right

think its a viceroy

Hey Pope, your driveway has more weeds in it than mine....must be from the wetside. ;)

Not sure what it scores, but I just noticed the dead bee in the picture.  Roadkill, or disease......

GORGEOUS.....thanks for sharing.    I wanted to go to the one up in Vancouver but haven't made it yet.  I managed to make it to the exhibit when it was in Portland...sorry, no pics.

Mine is taken in Glacier National Park.  I was hiking after some rams to shoot (go figure?) when i came upon the butterfly.  Shot it and got on to more important things...   ;)
