And pleeeaaase LongTat, don't tell us that it's on some girl you know. LOL But why would a guy have a tattoo of a butterfly?

Here is a butterfly I found dead in my yard.  I thought it was perfect addition to this mount.  Does anyone know if it will last or not?  Or if i need to put something on it to preserve it.  I also have a large bees nest in my yard that I want to harvest with out getting stung and damaging it.  Any advice on that would be great too.

Thats awesome.

It will eventually fade but I don't think there is anyway to dtop that other than keeping it out of the sun.  Be extremely careful when dusting it as it will be most fragile.

The bees nest is best obviously after it freezes, but before it rains.  Other than that, bug spray works.  Dose it real good, then let it dry and it will be fine.  There might be a bit of an odor for awhile, but it will disappear.   When you collect it, store it somewhere where it won't hurt if a bee or two comes out....like not over your bed for instance.

Couldn't you give that butterfly a fine mist of clear coat spray?  Like a krylon varnish or something that will seal it?  I have doen it with flowers and fruits, but never bugs...........

That is a GREAT idea on the mount.  Love it.

What about spraying bee killer in a garbage bag and covering the nest with it.  Right now it is a little bigger than a cantaloupe and they are working like mad on it.  I wanted to let it get as big as possable but we are having a big 4th bash and I don't want anyone to get stung so this is their last few days.
