This was the opener of halibut out of westport on the charter boat the slammer. We fished saturday for bottom fish and lingcod and sunday for halibut and lincod we limited both days it was a blast.

Ask him about the time they forgot lead at the dock....LOL
They went all the way out to the halibut hole, and realized, no lead! Turrned around, and didnt get back til after dark.

I'm headed out for my first time halibut fishing the 14th. Can't wait!

I do have one question maybe you can help me with. I'll be fishing somewhere around the Bellingham/Blaine area. I haven't yet had a chance to clarify with the captain of the charter boat we're going on, but he mentioned we might not be able to fish for haibut and lingcod in the same day due to new regulations regarding fishing depth.

I can't totally understand the regs... Looks like the new rule the captain is talking about didn't get put in place and it is ok to fish for lingcod and halibut in the same day?
