It is Jackelope... I would note that the weakness on that ram (as told to me by people who know) is that he lacks mass and that's his only downfall as his length is great. I don't know, he just looks big to me.

Well, look at the second ram I posted...the tips are the size of baseball bats. Mr. Big comes to a small point at his tips. Probably because he's really young and only about 8 years old...

You are right Bone, this is a great site for pictures and more, but watching the rams butt heads was a great sight and site all in one....LOL

I posted this rut photo for fun as it is an old one. Notice it is a full size slide scan. In the old days with slides, you had to frame your photo perfectly within the shot and couldn't be off with your exposure by even a half a stop. The slide film was expensive. This was shot with Fuji Velvia and there are no photoshop processes done to the photo but to add my signature. You couldn't go back and sharpen later in the old days. Man I love digital. I think I shot this with a 200mm f2.8. I have always maintained I would rather have a shorter fast lens than a longer slow lens. I can move closer to the animal but I can't make there be more light. I did a lot of photography with a 200mm lens.
I think I shot this with my wife 10 or 12 years ago from the car. I think these are bison range rams. Rams will be rams, pushing and messing with each other.

Awesome pics!!! I remember hunting down in the blues outside of Pomeroy up on top of Ables' ridge and walking to the bottom, and seeing several sheep. The first group we were only 50 to 70 yards from them, and they just stood and looked at us. the second set was a little farther down the draw and they were on the other side and there were around 60 of them in the group and we just sat and watched them for over an hour since hunting was a bust for the day. They are amazing animals.

Some amazing pics here. I just wish I could afford the glass to go with my camera to get these kind of shots.

Oh Antlershed... Many of my photos are taken with a $500 Canon 200mm F2.8 L... Not cheap but not expensive.
