limbsaver recoil reducer buttpad, how much do they help?

Im going to get one for my 300 winmag and wondered how much they helped

They help a lot. For me it's more with length of pull. I like a longer stock and they add a couple "s to my stock. "the slip on ones" People laugh when they see me with gun's like a ar-15 with a recoil pad But it's for a diffrent reason On the other side yes they do help with recoil "some"

They help tremendously. I had total shoulder replacement surgery in 09/2008. I could no longer take the recoil of my primary Bear & Elk rifle, a 444 Marlin®. I installed a Limbsaver® recoil pad; THAT HAS TAMED THAT BIG BORE RIFLE!

All the difference in the world.  I put one on my 375 Remington Ultra Mag (model 700 BDL) and it eliminated shoulder pain and bruising from recoil.  Doesn't help with the magnum brow though. LOL

The fit was perfect, like it was from the factory.

I use one on my Marlin 1895 45-70 Guide Gun and can shoot through boxes of heavy loads without pain. I have another on a Kimber 8400 7mm WSM that used to kick like a mule. I could only shoot 3-4 shots before I started to develop a flinch and quivering shoulder muscles. With the recoil pad its no problem at all. Highly recommend them for any powerful rifle.
Only possible issue is that they do add a bit to the LOP and they are a bit sticky and could interfere with heavy clothes if you need to shoulder the gun in a hurry.

I wouldn't laugh at the Guy holding the AR even if it was a pink recoil pad.

I have them on my 06, 45/70, wife's 12ga & will be adding to my Citori as well as my new purchase the .375 H&H

They do help a lot with recoil but as was mentioned earlier they are a little "sticky" and tend to hang up on clothes when you go to shoulder your gun.  Not too big a deal with rifle but I've missed shotgun shots due to bad mounts with the pad hanging up.  I just use a Limbsaver on rifiles these days.

I bought my Rem 700 .270 in 2005 and it came from the factory with the R-3 Recoil pad (basically the same thing as the Limbsaver.)
I loved it so much that I took the buttpads off all my other rifles and replaced them with Limbsavers.  My dad's old .300 Wby Mag still kicks like a mule, but now I can put a box of shells through it before I start hating the thing (used to be I put 6 or 7 shells through it and started getting pissy...).  All my son's rifles have them too.

I have Savage 300winmag and limbsaver did saved my arm .You can shoot boxes of ammo at the range sighting in no problem . I think it works great for me and would not  shoot without it (or limit the number of shells you putting in at every one time ) .Also if you have long arms ,it can make your stock more comfy ... If I were you I'd say buy it .
