Okay, this should work now. Came around a corner driving to a spot I was going to shed hunt near McCall and one of these wolves was standing in the road. In about a half second I thought deer! No, coyote! No. . . . Wolf!!! It headed up the bank and a second then ran across the road following it. Luckily I had my video camera sitting on the console and was able to get it up and recording in time. It was crazy to finally see some. They weren't too concerned, just made their way up the hill until they were out of sight, stopping to look back a few times.

For some reason the quality isn't as good when I transferred it over to YouTube, but it's good enough.

I'm amazed you were only shooting video.....if you know what I mean. Cool vid. They seemed more annoyed with you than scared/timid.

cool and good find. I have crossed few times. It getting easy before open day. It would be very very very cool if two bullets fly out of window and drove off.

If I were staying in Idaho I might buy a tag, graduating next weekend and it'll be back to the west side of WA for me though.

great video though, hope I see a couple next time i'm there, I'm from grangeville idaho, so i go there once a month or two. they are sneaky though, don't catch em on the road a lot

Nice job capturing the video. I don't see why you acted so surprised to see them though. Thery're becoming more common of a sight in that neck of the woods than seeing a bull elk. Sad.

They were the first wolves I've seen in my 4 years over here, was neat to actually lay my eyes on them despite how much I hate them. I've spent the majority of my time around the Moscow/Deary/Potlatch area though, and while they're around (just saw a lone set of tracks in a shaded draw in the snow while shed hunting the other day as a matter of fact) they don't seem to be as thick as the more mountainous and remote areas. I guess I really shouldn't have been surprised in that country!

And I was trying to imitate the "whoop" sound I've heard yote guys holler to stop 'em. In my excitement it came out a little off. . .

Your "whoop" sound seemed to work good enough to make a "whop" sound this fall with a tag in your pocket!
