Black Gold Rush site?
« on: May 08, 2011, 04:54:28 PM »
Anyone used the Black Gold RUSH sight? I was looking at it at OE yesterday and it looks like a nice sight. It seems to be a well built and well thought out sight. I like the idea of having the flashpoint so the pins don't get too bright during mid day or bright conditions.
I was using a Cobra Boomslang 4 pin and liked it but it had the bigger pins so I switched to another Cobra 6 pin with the smaller pins and don't care for it all that much. A new sight might be in my future..... :chuckle:
Any input is appreciated

been shooting black gold for 11 years now.  just got a new mathews and put the rush 7 pin .19 on it.  they are bright.  not sure about the 7 pin though.  to many pins to figure out the yardage.  if your in a hurry to shoot, it could be easy to miss-pin your yardage.  especially around the 40-60 yards.  got the extra pins for 3d shooting.  not so much hunting.  might need to black out the 70 and 80 yard pins.
but yes.....black gold are the toughest and brightest sights out with a killer warranty.  you can't go wrong.

They make a good sight. I have a 5 pin surge on a vengeance base on the way.  I went with .029 for the top pin, .019 for the next two, and .010 for the bottom two.  They will customize any sight for you through their custom shop.  Here is a tip though, order through a dealer rather than direct.  It will save you 15 to 20%.

Thanks for the info. I will look into the custom shop.  I like the idea of graduating the pin size.  What is special about the vengence mount?

It is the only one of their bases that has the third axis adjustment.  All others you would have to shim to achieve third axis adjustment.

I've had the five pin for a year, I really like the site. I fell down on a wet slippery log & broke the bottom corner of the cover that turns colors. I called Black gold & found out there was a lifetime warranty no matter what ! I got two covers ( one for a spare ) in the mail in two days. Great service. Mike
