Rifle ID old rifle
«

I have a rifle that has been in my family since 1908 in is a winchester 94 lever action. I ran the serial and found out it was made in 1908. My question is under side says .30WCF so is it a .30 or what we have alway shoot in it which is 30-30?

The .30 Winchester Center Fire (.30 WCF), commonly known as the .30-30, serves today's hunter as well as it has served for generations.

Well I guess I'm never too old to learn something new. I guess its my age, but I enjoy hunting w/the older cartridges (w/new technology bullets). Two years ago I took an old cowboy & WWII vet into Kesselrings gun shop in Alger. On the used gun rack he spotted that Win Saddle gun (complete w/ring)-his eyes lit up & took him back years. He told me to be sure & buy one made before '41 as they were better. Sounds like you got a treasure-rather have that than those WSMs (sorry).

It still has the ring. It is great to have. It sits on the wall above my reloading bench on rubber coated rings.

Bofire you wish. I did some looking and found out this has a nice $ tag on it. But it does not matter how much I needed money I could not part with it. Having the family history with it makes it even nicer.
