First thank you all for the comments. And secondly I used to think it was expensive to go on these hunts down here also. But it's really not. The first thing you got to find is how big the property is. There are some down here that will make you hunt in a 50 acre pasture, so be aware of that. There are other ranches down here that are 2500- 6000 sq acres that are high and low fenced. Then you got to ask about being allowed to stalk and shoot or if you have to be in a stand. So that also determines what you are going to do. Then what weapons they allow on their property. I did a ton of research down here and one of the hunts that I will be going on this Dec is archery, 1800 sq acres, must be in a stand not allowed to stalk. I am taking a whitetail over 7 points, an (axis, blackbuck, sika or fallow) two rams of different species, 4 pigs and a turkey for 1400.00. That is lodging included but you have to bring and make your own food. Ok well actually that will be doubled because the wife wants to hunt also. And with her being deployed last year and then in school all this year til june of 2012 with a one week break in Mar that is all she will be able to hunt. Thanks againJoe

Looks great Joe, don't forget to let me know when you head on that trip later this year so I can fly over. If I get an Axis I plan on having you do the full mount on it... Can't wait!!!
Very Nice as usual Joe. When was that taken? John
wow, sounds like a good time! is that flocked velvet?
But if you are asking because of the velvet Axis deer to not have a set rut period so you can go and have some in velvet, some not in velvet and some with no horns at all. They can have babies any time of the year also so it is pretty cool to talk to the ranchers and learn things like this. ThanksJoe
