Merriam's Gobbler
« on: May 10, 2011, 04:42:49 PM »
This one never made a sound, just suddenly he was there. Used one of my wingbones and a scratch box. Shot was at about 12 yards.

Very cool. Congrats.
I have a wing bone call made from my first turkey but haven't felt confident enough to use it. Just haven't practiced enough I spose.

Love that he came in silent...spook like.

Nice job with the bow. I was going to try this year  with the bow, but decided shotgun at the last minute. Wish I had tried, could have taken my second with the bow no problem.

Great Job Ed!  Nothing like calling in an animal with a call made by your own hands with a bow to boot.

Those silent ones are so hard.  Maybe im to young to know how much patience pays off. But if that bird hasnt gobbled within the last 15-20 minutes, I assume he has left and i go look for a more active bird.  Just wonder how many poked around after i left :dunno: So hats off to you callmaker

Great job Ed !  I was over there a couple weeks ago and pulled a NOTTA.  I didnt even think to look you up for some hot spots.  Heading back over the last weekend to try it one last time with the bow... If you are not too busy we should get out together.

Nice bird Ed. Did the weather ever get nice? Got my two birds opening week over there, man was it different this year. Now it's time for me to put a few halibut in the freezer.
