Camping tents

I've had the same coleman for about 8 years, decided to upgrade.  This isn't necessarily for hunting, mainly spring/summer/fall camping.  She wants one with one of those front porches we can store all our gear in.  Any recommendations?

My favorite tent. Plenty of room for two people either on a pad on the ground or two cots inside, plus you have the extra storage under the vestibule out front and out back.

It would depend on how much you want to spend and whether you set it up right out of your car or are packing. I have a Coleman Lakeside 10x15 and I love it for two people. We have an accordion bed frame with a queen-size air bed and there's still half the tent for chairs and a table. Plenty of storage, but no outside vestibule.

We like our Coleman tent. Sure is roomy! It dose not have a front porch, but we put up a mesh tent to store/ cook out of. Keeps the bees out. We use a mesh tent for a dining area as well.

I need something a little bigger than a two person tent.  We don't pack in so we don't need anything compact.  Gonna need enough room for two cots, gear and dogs.  Wanna stay around $200

REI does have some good tents especially during their garage sales. I purchased a brand new one that was half price because the first owner couldn't read instructions and set it up. Has a nice Vestibule.

I have had a Coleman Weathermaster 12 x 18 ft tent for over ten years. My zippers broke last year. Up till then it was a great tent. now I am also looking for a replacements for my tent. Personally I would not get a tent that had a screened porch. They do not do that great in weather, and I do not want to worry about leaving things in the vestibule and getting stolen. I would rather have more interior room. I like the new "D" doors that the new Colemans have. The door zippers are by far the weakest part in the tents I have owned. Rasbo bought a nice family sized tent recently (I can't remember the name) when you find one you like, search Cabelas and Amazon for that tent, then read the reviews.

I like the idea of the D doors as well but reviews on the doors are poor, they don't line up right.  I also see the attachments are velcro which I would assume would lose their hold after awhile BUT you can still go back to the zipper.
These have decent reviews but with a screen porch as well.

Maybe Rasbo can chime in on what he picked up recently.  If it was up to me, I would get a lightweight 4 person tent with stitched seams but apparently those don't exist anymore unless you want to drop some bills.

any of you guys with zipper problems ever had them redone? ive had an old white stag, light canvas tent for about 20 years, had it rezipped twice for about $50 a pop. the fabric & seams are about done after last years elk hunt but the last zipper job has held up well. if you really like your tent and its only a zipper its a cheep fix
