hows the cowlitz

has anyone been down to the cowlitz this week and if so whats the fishn like, plan on going down there and spending the night after work today.

I havent been down this week but a buddy of mine got a couple jacks yesterday up at barrier. There are definetly some in there but id say over half of whats being caught are jacks. Still good eaters for sure though  :)

kind of stupid question but ive never ate a jack king before, do they have the same red meat that the adult kings do? or are they more like big trout

Their meat is just like an adult as far as Ive seen. Correct me if im wrong guys but the ones ive cut open were

sweet thats good to hear, ive always tossed the few i cought back into the river. unharmed of course i just figured they were like trout more than anything. and i have a love hate relation with trout since ive choked several times on there tiny bones  :(

My buddy caught a nice springer the other day but the river is running kinda high the best fishing so far was about a week and half ago
