Deer carrier pics
« on: May 16, 2011, 08:51:49 PM »
Anybody have some good ideas about deer carriers or picks.  I have used a wheelbarrow and a drag behind bike carrier in the past.    Ideas please!

Not sure if you mean to carry out of the field, or what, but I use a super mag hauler from Cabelas and a hitch on my mountain bike if it's a ways back in.

I am interested in what kind of hitch setup you are using with your mountain bike. Some pictures or more info would be cool. I have the Sportsman Guide version of the Cabelas carrier.

For the money it works. Hopefully it will actually get used for a deer this year instead of just gear. :)

The hitch is here:

I attach it to the mag hauler with 4 hose clamps and it works pretty sweet.

I love my game cart! It makes it easy to get an animal out without getting it all dirty.

we use a capsan winch and a deer sleigh'er.  it'll drag any animal out of the deepest, darkest places.  then, on to a 4 wheeler!

That winch is sweet. Save me a spot in hunting camp!

used a cabelas something or other game cart, the same one pictured above with the deer on it, to pack my buddies cow elk out a couple years ago during the late teanaway hunt. Thing kicked butt. We put the entire quartered animal on there, and all of our gear for the walk out. We took it cross country, over trees, through brush, and about 2' of snow for 3 miles. Saved our butts!

That's the super mag hauler. It's a great cart. I also got the spoke coverings for it and it moves better through brush and snow.

Yeah just like you said... Way better for the rough stuff..... If your load is not on perfect and strapped very tight you will loose it and flip over a ton more then a two wheel....

Backstrap backrest...
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Didn't need it. The deer carrier was the bed of the super duty after a short drag.
 :chuckle:

Hope to need it this year though.

I just ordered a new pack frame from cabelas. I couldn't get my game cart to last years bear.
