That is an awesome video but I have to say I think I prefer the pack that Ross had with his bull  ;)

I'm in no where near the shape I was in last fall. I've gained 14lbs in 4months, and lost all intrest in getting back in shape.
My wife asked me , "what would it take for you to get back in shape?"
Me:   " nothing rite now, Hunting don't start untill October."
Maybe if the drawing results produce a tag for me or my son, I'll get the hunger back.

Nice video Travis, I'm sure anyone who's ever had that kind of awkward load on their back felt your pain.

Nice vid Travis!  You and your Dad have got some Awesome memories from your trips!  I'll just take a look at that vid if I don't feel like running somedays this summer.  I only did a 4 mile run yesterday, but thats a lot for me, it was hilly though.  I'm still trying to improve.  How long (mileage and time) and how many trips on that pack out?

No more lifting for me, I am just working cardio and stretching for my back and legs.  I'll do what exercises i can do with body weight (push ups, lunges, pull ups etc)

You guys wanting to get into shape need a little CrossFit a few times a week. Its a total strength and conditioning program. Short INTENSE workouts get you in the best shape of your life. If you have questions pm me. You can do it for free with a few pieces of equipment.
You can have excuses or results not both

Great Video! Awesome Bull!!!! This video shows why it's a good idea to learn how to cape your animals. Especially elk and moose. You can separate the cape from the skull, cut the antlers from the skull and save another 20+ lbs by not packing around the lower jaw and the rest of the upper skull. There are a ton of guys that would have never been able to make that pack up out of that hole with one load like Travis did. Kudos to you man, You are an animal.

Awesome video, awesome bull! i would say im in ok shape right now. I'm big on lifting and fitness, but i haven't been doing much cardio. in the next couple weeks im gonna start getting on the treadmill for a short while then work my way up. i usually start off at incline full fast paced walked for 20 mins for two weeks, then move into a 40 min range, then 40 mins on a stair steeper or bike then a month before the season use a backpack full of weight and continue. Its fun to push the old vets i hunt with to there limit while being 19 and in shape during the season  ;) . Im gonna need to be in great shape for this year though for my washington and montana tags!
Again, awesome bull man and tough pack!

cool vid and great bull! but there is no way in hell I am packing unnecessary weight out unless the pack out isn't that far? bone out of quarters and caped out the head and cut antlers off and threw a boned out quarter in pack.

With a bull like that I would be bringing it out with the head and letting the taxidermist take care of caping out the skull.

As to bone in quarters, I feel that the extra work of deboning in the field just isn't worth it.  I have tried it both ways.

I spent the weekend lugging around concrete and treated 6" x 6" posts.  Then 11 miles last night in prep for the upcoming half marathon.  I would rather be hiking or packing out an elk quarter but I need to do something to pass the time.  Keep up the work fellas!
