:) Over all 1911 in 45acp, I also love revolvers both single and double action, that said. EVERYONE needs a 22 pistol, I prefer autos but revolvers are good. With my fat fingers and the little 22 shells I have a hard time loading 22 revolvers. I have no use for big handguns, I'd use a rifle first,  "they call 'em handguns 'cause they're handy" Skeeter Skelton.

Although there are other choices out there; I will stick to the 1911's
Built these two guys myself

Since you stated that you wanted a 10" 44 mag revolver, I assume that you want to use it for hunting.  44mags are ok, but really, for hunting go larger:  Ruger redhawk in 454 Casul, 480 Ruger or something like that.

Nice looking guns.

I do a lot of hunting so I'd like to buy one with the option of hunting with it. I'll look into the ruger redhawk 454. It seems that a lot of you guys like it.

If I wasn't married... My pistols would be my haram of girlfriends; each with a different personality. Love my Kimber 1911 (45acp) for competition. My Ruger 5 1/2" SS Redhawk probably gets the most holster time in the woods and for pure pistol hunting. The 7 1/2" Super Blackhawk may have taken a back seat to the RH but only because the RH is stainless. I still love the SBH. Both are 44mags. For paper targets to Grouse, the customized Ruger MKII's get the nod. I took out the 4" Colt Diamondback (38spl) the other day. My son really loves that one. I even put some rounds through the SP101 (357mag) the other day. That's the carry gun most of the time. (Black Tallons!) There are others... But those get the most fodder out the barrel.

Target is 50 yards. One hand shooting. Kimber 1911 45acp.  (OK, yeah, I dropped one.)  :o

Thanx!
I practice, 50rnds, 50yds, 50 minutes.  One hand, for my Slow Fire practice for Bullseye shooting. I'll admit that is one of my better targets. The objective of the practice is get 50rnds in the black. 10's and X's are nice, but just get them all in the black is still a challenge. (I shoot twice a week much of the year. Often three times a week, throwing in Timed and Rapid sessions.) That adds up to thousands of rounds fired every year just from that one gun. -And get this, I don't win matches! I'm usually middle of the road to maybe 70 percentile in scores. I won many Sharpshooter classes, then a few at the Expert ranks for outdoor matches. I just earned Master last year for indoor. That particular target would score 96%. Master score is 95%. (There are High Masters here in the Puget Sound area) If they don't shoot 9's or better at 50yds, they're having a bad day. These are also refined target loads. Not white box Winchester defensive or ball ammo. My 1911 also has a Matchdot on it. When I shoot with irons, I have less in the X/10 rings but proud to put plenty in the black.

So what's my favorite pistol?  The one I shoot the best!  So, I guess it is quite the toss-up, because I shoot my customized Ruger MKII for Master scores most times. Love that gun.

Have several that I like, but shoot really well with the S&W 617, S&W 686. Kimber 1911 for semi auto.

I'll always be a 1911 fan. I love my S&W wheel gun too though. Its like JamieB's bigger brother. 340 M&P with CT grips but will also handle .357.

Dan Wesson 15-2 in 357.  if you are lucky you can find the pistol pack that comes with the 2, 4 ,6, and 8 inch barrels.  and you can order new barrels up to 15 inches i belive.

[quotesmith 629 44mag][/quote]

 :yeah:

If your looking at a 44 mag or more, I would recommend you spend some time shooting one first.  Plenty of big bore pistols are bought and just sit because they're not for everyone.  My SW 44 mag has plenty of stomp to it, I can only imagine what a 454 or larger would do.
