Camera Thief! Can you ID this guy?
« on: May 24, 2011, 11:04:26 PM »
I am mad as hell! >:(  I just got back from checking my 4 trail cameras and 2 of the 4 were stolen.  Luckily, my cheap wildview got a picture of the guy.  I hope some of my forum friends can help ID this jerk.  I used to lock up all my cameras but figured this spot was pretty covert and didn't need to worry.  I was wrong.  :'(  From now on all my cameras will be locked.

I will probably not get my cameras back.  I will lock all them up next time. To avoid this kind of frustration I hope my HuntWA forum trail camera addicts will do the same :twocents:

If you have any ideas on who this guy is please PM me.

Hmm... looks like Xtra-Tuf rubber boots and brown Carhartt pants? Appears to be a hunter. Kind of hard to identify someone just from a picture of their backside though. Can you say the general area this was?

Oh boy get ready for the bashing from some of these guys for.... how they say it.... Crying over your stolen camera that you left out in the public!  Man, what did you expect leaving money hanging on a tree.... Maby it was, G.....well I don't want to go there.  Sorry you had some a hole take your stuff, it sure happens a lot and thats why I don't spend the money on one. I hope you find out who did it, in a sucluded area like that I'm sure it's a spot he likes to be in and not just a drive-by.  You'll probably see him out there again but probably not for a while. Good luck.

The banter is pretty funny, but it looks like my camera in his backpack!  That's all I know.  True, he could be walking by and just scouting.  There isn't a pot grow going on.  I basically live back there and know every tree.

I know that I should have locked it, but bolt cutters would be used to cut the lock.  If someone wants a camera or anything else they will find a way to get it.

I am sure I will cross paths with this guy.  I know my cameras had good deer pictures.  Last year at this same time I had some huge deer on them.  Check my previous posts.

If you have any ideas on who this could be based on his clothes, boots, then please PM or tell him to put the cameras back.  The general area is Thurston County.

I don't get the logic in the "guy does not have a gun so why would he be there in the first place" part...
I go in the woods all the time without a gun.
