:yeah:   The only place you have to PROVE he stole your cam is in court......not the place I would deal with him.

I have two tree stands in the woods,I expect them to get ripped off,so I bought cheap ones...that way I'm not to pissed when they do...That doesn't mean I think its OK for a thief to take them...Sadly that is where the world has come to.
everyone thinks they have a secret place, well there isn't any,I find these secret places, and I'm sure my pic has been taken. But that don't make me the thief if it was taken...If I were a thief the camera that took his pic would have been taken also, they don't hide that well...I find a lot of them....If your going back and forth to check a camera,or to bait you are leaving a trail,no matter how crafty one thinks they are...any critters coming to a bait  also leave a trail, sometimes many trails leading there....all that being said,if I found a pic of me on the net and someone said I was the thief because I walked by your camera,I would be inclined to treat the accuser as I would a thief..hope you figure it out,I been ripped off many times nobody hates a thief more than I.

I have four trail cameras out right now, and this weekend I'll make that five. I won't be too surprised if one decides to walk away, and that's why I have cheap cameras. I paid $40 each for two of them, $30 for another, another was a used camera from eBay for about $60, and another is an $80 camera that I got as a gift. If one disappears, I will probably be more disappointed about the loss of the memory card with whatever pictures are on it, than the actual camera. It's just the "cost of doing business."  Oh, and I don't lock up any of my cameras. It doesn't seem worth it to me to spend more on a lock and a lock box than I paid for the camera. I am particular about where I set them up though- I'm careful to only place them on obscure trails where people aren't likely to be.

yeah I try to get into areas where the brush is so prickly and stickery that no one in there right mind would go otherwise. This would be about a quarter mile from any skid road or about a mile from a mainline

It is sad that you expect to get ripped off.  I don't expect to get ripped off.  I expect to see pictures of deer.  I expect my property to be left alone.  I don't own extremely expensive cameras, but they are pretty nice for what I can afford. The camera that took the picture of the "Thief" and yes I will call him that because I see my camera in his pack, is the cheapest camera I own and as you can see he is walking away from it and that is why it wasn't stolen.  It is a coincidence that one the my cameras was stolen and I also got a picture of someone with my camera in his pack!  :yike: this is too much of a coincidence to ignore.

:dunno: I would be inclined to treat the accuser as I would a thief :dunno:
What does this mean?

I did not steal anything.  I am a sportsman and I am fair minded. There is a possiblity that this guy could not be the thief. But the fact that he his less than 40yards from the stolen camera and has the camera is his pack is too much to ignore.  Thanks for adding your  :twocents: It its said that this is what our world has come to.

How would you deal with this situation?
Aim small...miss small
