Mason County Elk
« on: June 04, 2011, 08:36:44 PM »
Does anyone know if the hills north of Kamilche hold elk?  2900 road, 3000 road, 3350 road?  Any knowledge?  Trying to stay close to home this year.  PM me if you have the knowledge I'm looking for.

It might be Grays Harbor county but it's only what, 20-30 miles from Shelton if that. It's south of Elma/McCleary on highway 12 going to Oakville. Look  'er up on the map.

What about Capital Forest  :dunno:

Heard there is elk arounf the Mox chehailis Rd area   :dunno:
Nevere see any elk up there but I have seen tracks while riding the trails between Porter creek and Strataline some years ago.

Lots of elk in the M/C area but mostly on private property.

Ive been cruising timber about 10 miles West of there out Cloquallum Rd. Plenty of elk sign Ive seen, but I'd never hunt there. No sheds yet and no elk seen, but they were there.

Hunt the satsop unit near matlock.  Should only be 15 miles or so from shelton.
