I wish you luck !, but do you realize what you are asking ?
I hunt public land (have been for 32 years) and really never had a safety issue, always get an opportunity (dont always take the shot), get a deer (average) almost every other year, and an Elk about once every 6 years, I hope to get more consistent.
You can get away from crowds by walking, but actually some of my better years have been in crowded woods, where other hunters pushed animals to me..

There are great public land opportunities in Washington. I have permission to hunt plenty of private land but I spend most of my time on public. If you want permission for private just spend some time knocking on doors. I get told no more now days than I used to but I still get access to great lands. If you spend a day or two asking permission I can guarantee you will gain access to good lands.

alot of questions to be asked... which weapon? what side of the state?   I have a few private places that have more hunters running around than the public lands I hunt for deer.... all the best elk hunting around here is on nat forest or timber company..scout and do some leg work.

I'd like a partner who can pack. I mean really pack. I'm talking a whole deer or a half an elk. Of course with the half of an elk, it would require him to make two trips. Also when I'm up in the highcountry, I'd like someone to be able to pack out a boned out deer and our entire camp. I hate making two trips.
Access to private land would be a must. I mean a good spot too. I want to hunt some private land where I have at least a 90% chance at killing a 200" buck or a 350" bull. Being a good spotter would a necessity. He really should have some swarovski els and a sworovski spotter or the 15's on a tripod would work too (two sets).  He has to have a nice truck too. Comfortable with a good heater. Gas mileage dosen't matter much because I would prefer not to purchase expensive gasoline.
In return, I would provide the shooting of the animal, the bragging and all around good company. If this sounds like you, let me know.

Grizz, We all want to harvest a deer and elk EVERY year. It does not allways happen. If you want to get away from the crowds you have to work for it, I mean sweat, blood, and cold wet feet and all the other misery that makes me love the outdoors. As for private land to hunt, you as a responsible sportsman should try and make your own contacts and not ride the coatails of others hard earned trust/friendships with landowners. It will not be easy, but it will be worth the HARD work. DIY, thats how I roll

Private property isn't always the most productive way to hunt.  Putting in a lot of pre-season scouting, shed hunting, and a lot of research.  Call the game department and ask to talk to the wildlife biologist who manages around where you hunt.  Most of the time (about 99%) the biologist will tell you where you have the best odds of filling a tag around where you hunt.  That is their job, because they want people to be successful; otherwise, people will start going out-of-state and that does not have good results for our state.  That's my method for public land.  Do your research!  Good luck

I'm in the same boat. I've hunted with a few guys and family members but they're not the class of hunters that I want to go with. I'd like to find a fit, attractive, blond female, age 21-34 who has private land to hunt. I'd really like it if she has an interesting accent too. Like maybe a southern accent. An English or Australian accent would be fine too. Ideally, all parts of the land would be accessible by vehicle so she can haul my animals out and pick me up at the end of each day. If she can't get her truck to every part of the property, she can substitute a 4-wheeler. The land should also border a stream that has a solid runs of fish. I need easy limits of silvers and steelhead. Oh, I almost forgot. She needs to know how to smoke fish and cure eggs.
She should enjoy cooking too because hunting makes me hungry. Knowing how to butcher my animals is a must. She can borrow a couple of my knives if needed, but they better be sharp when I get them back!
The dwelling on the property will need to have wood heat. I really like wood heat. Pellet stoves or open fireplaces are unacceptable. It needs a wood stove burning old growth fir.
She should also have some kind of connections in the beer industry that provides her (and therefore me) with free beer. I'm easy to please, so the big domestics like Bud and Coors are fine.

Try finding organizations with like minded individuals. Maybe go to a friends of the NRA banquet or a Washington Comity for Wildlife function. I bet you'll have a better response when you make contacts in person and after developing a report, then ask someone to take you under their wing. That's just my  worth.

im not to picky, but this fits what id like to a tee. not sure how the wife would feel, but we will deal with that later.

LMAO....I forgot I started this thread    Lots of entertaining replys..thanks for the laughs. However, my hunting party seems to be on again for this season. At least for now until the wives pull the purse strings shut again on them. The reason I was looking for some good private land is because last year was a bust, and the year before that some group of hunters were ringing off shots back and forth to signal location if you cann believe that. Seems like everytime I scout a new area that seems productive, no matter how far out, I run into a pumpkin patch.

i'm even less picky but 21-35 works. fit, attractive, blonde i like. accent would be nice but not a must cause hopefully she keeps her mouth shut most of the season accept to whisper sweet nothings in my ear about how great a hunter i am as she "tucks me into bed". and last but not least a generally good cook. im tired of eating hot dogs and denty moore stew.

Change your method, put the modern gun in the rack. I did and I will never go back for elk hunting.

  I tried that with my buddy, but i ran out of arrows, and i still didnt know where he was!
