You have been misguided D-Rock.  Those are decoys, placed there by people trying to keep the hunting there a secret.

I just hope I don't get drawn for everything in one year because I would have to quit my job and go hunting from September through November

2 years ago I drew deer and elk in MT, Nooksack any bull rifle in WA, unit 40 mule deer in southern ID, and my daughter (12) had her first deer and elk tags with me in MT. I just about hunted myself into the dirt. Craziest 2 months of my life. I think I'm still tired!

How did you do on your unit 40 Idaho mule deer tag?

Passed up much bigger deer only to get fooled by the size of this one. Oops. Nice buck but the tag deserved better. Hope I get it again. Hard to see but it is a 4x4 w/one eye guard. One of the points is behind another.

Four of us starting putting in as a group a few years ago.  Doesn't need to be a Quality Bull hunt, etc. to be a fun trip.  Heck, we'd be thrilled to pull a doe blacktail permit!  We just like to set up camp, go hunt and tell a few lies.

Does anyone ever really put in and hope to not get drawn?

I am actually in this boat.  I put in for 2nd deer and quality elk.  Now, with gas prices and having to hire a lawyer to fight the mortgage company, I'm not going to have the gas.  Now I'd rather have the points

Don't worry, with the odds in WA, you shouldn't let it keep you up at night worrying about getting drawn

Stillaguamish and Snoqualmie for me.  First season ever and I figure close to home means more scouting.  Most likely going to hiking with a gun instead of hunting but everybody has to have a first season sometime.

I will not get drawn.  I applied Entiat Archery Deer, and Nooksack Archery quality bull.  Everything else for points.  I can't complain too much though, I am headed for Colorado in November.
