« on: June 02, 2011, 02:24:27 PM »
found this website with scopes with adjustable turrets for drop and wind for right at $100,
sounds like too good of a price for it to be a good optics. what do you think?

Having never owned a Barska scope and not willing to find out the hardway they have a very bad reputation.  Quality control is not one of their selling points.  They are not a 3 out of 5 star scope more like a no star scope.  You can get a close our Vortex Crossfire 6x24x50mm with turrets and mildots for $99 from SWFA.  I just picked one up for load developement.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

I'm guessing it would be better to save up for a better scope.I don't want to have to worry about scope problems when I have a animal in my cross hairs

Irons top Barska, and by a goodly margin.

On a bad day.

Cabelas recently had the Nikon ProStaff 3-9x40 on sale for $100. I seriously thinking of putting one on my son's .30-06 for WY antelope this year.

There is a lot better scopes out there for just a few more bucks. I have a red dot on my MKII made by barska and it works just fine. I would not trust there stuff on anything but a small cal.

I had a set of their binos and they sucked bad.  Foged up so bad the first time I was out they were useless.

I own a barska scope and wouldnt dream of taking it anywhere but the range.  Even then they suck.  If your looking for economical you are much better off going with a bushnell.  Much clearer but no matter what your budget you get what you pay for for the most part.
