Bear near carnation??

I have decided to focus on getting a bear this year (fall) and I want to know where the best places are near Carnation. This is my first time hunting for bear as I am from TN and we don't have bears where I lived there. I have live here for 3 yrs but have just hunted mule deer in eastern wa and carried a bear tag just in case i saw one but I have gotten the bug and I want to get a bear really bad. Any information is appreciated!

Couple of things..

First off, welcome to WA and welcome to the site.
Secondly, you are asking for the best places around carnation for bears (basically, honey holes on your first post)....

I think you will find better luck if you post something about your hunts, maybe post a few pics, and then in a few months, when it is closer to season and you've contributed to the site, you will more than likely have some success in asking for help.

Research our bear thread, read up on the stories, the how to's, etc and you will get a good idea of what to look for. Get out and explore Carnation. You will more than likely find some great spots on your own.

Find berries, no people, and you'll find bears.

awww jeez every year around this time i have to tell everybody my secret spots.  dang it.

ok so go to the hershey fields and find the only willow tree in the southern field, from there follow it slightly southeast for about a quarter mile and cross the creek. Thats where they hang out.

HAHAA   now that you mention it , it does sound pretty close i think..

No bears left in that area....I used those directions last year and didn't see any sign..

Did you at least find a worn out rock hammer and an old bible with an outline cut into it?

haha well...I like the shawshank refrences and I didn't mean for my question to be taken that I just wanted someone to point me the right direction. I did go hiking way up in silverton this weekend and found quite a bit o poo but was hoping for something closer. Also I live near the hancock forest managment land does anybody know the reg. on their permit. I have tried to find information about hunting on it and without calling them (I work nights go to school during the day) I haven't been able to figure out too much. Again I didn't expect everyone to give me their honey holes more of a general direction.

Hancock permits are sold out but you can access the property by foot bike or horse without it.Plenty of good bear hunting areas if your willing to put the time in to finding them.

The snoqualmie Hancock only requires the pass for motorized access and wood cutting.Other Hancock properties have different rules.So yes you can walk in and hunt.

I'm in the same boat as you this year swanny. Although I know where they are.  There are 2 big ones terrorizing the 50+ acres here in snohomish next to our 10 acres and I have permission to hunt it. Also, up Stevens Pass I know where another 2 absolute giants hang out every year. P.M. me for more info if interested.

     that's sweet spot.  U could set trailcamera up 300 yds and wait.

...this weekend ...I also may have a source for free bruised and rotting apples as of today.
