cant find a good broad head!
« on: June 04, 2011, 03:17:43 AM »
Been shooting for a while now but i decided by hunt this year.  I shoot a mathew legacy with full metal jackest.  I have yet to find a broad head that fly good.  I have shot the montec, sonic (good but to brittle),  and the strikers. NO LUCK,  don't know if I just need to adjust more but i have yet to get an even OK group with any. i can see my arrow fly weird and just not happy.  I'm tired of spending money only to be let down. Any help would be awesome!  sorry for the spelling  ;)

Yeah..... ya just need to do some tuning. paper tuning, walk-back, etc. and make sure you are shooting the correct spined arrows for your specs.

The broadheads are magnifying the fact that your bow is not quite right. Some will magnify it less. Some way more!

I would start with this G5 Arrow Squaring Tool

It does wonders for broad head flight

I also like the shuttle T's but haven't put them in an animal yet. Just been shooting at the target and it flies just like the practice tips.
“In common with”..... not so much!!

:yeah:

If you are shooting all of those brands of broadheads and nothing is going right then something has to be wrong with your setup. I like Shuttle T and Montec and have never had issues with flight on any of them when everything is correct.

I agree with what has been said. Take you setup to a quality shop and get it tuned and any broadhead should shoot well for you.

Terminal T Locks seem to be flying great.  Really excited to use them this year.
