Water extremely high and a Plea for Shad
«

After blowing off three weeks of fishing due to high and fast water- decided to run to start the OS season off... Wow holy crap the water is so high it makes all of my old holes blow through..... We ended up with a decent one to the boat but a little slip of the grab and he was gone, quick release style.... Washougal boat ramp under water and only one lane accessible.. Even the life vest rack was close to being all the way under.... My understanding the shad are running in the trees on the Oregon side?
If any of you have shad, please contact me if you are willing to part with some for a trade of sorts. I got crap loads of various sized sinkers, and used Sturgeon rods, maybe a trip, etc... I just need shad and with my timing I have not been able or for see a trip to fill the cooler for the rest of the summer's activities........

Wish I had some for you. I see the little buggers are starting to come over the dam. The water is still ripping up higher as well. You should see the dalles dam and the water
Its crazy fast and dark and nasty! Glad you guys at least got one to the boat.

I have never had luck catching the little buggers or I would be all over them. Getting stocked up for some fishing.

I think the biggest problem is people use to heavy of gear. Lighten your leaders and you will catch more fish. I use red and white darts or the brass and red dick nite. I cast up stream and slowly real in. They usually hit at the end of the drift when it is swinging back to the bank...
