Hello Cohoho, you can get shad from some of the Indians that net them. Send me a pm if you want a phone number. Mike

they were selling them for $5.00 each the other day supply and demand. when they get better numbers then the price should drop some.

Is the taste of the bait worth the sting of the hook twice?

Not a bad day at Bonny.
Lost a lot of lead but hooked a bunch of fish.

Some russian kids were throwin rocks, big rocks, at the sturgeon cruizing the shore :bash:, a black guy told them to stop.
They made some comment to him, he threw down his rod and went nose to nose with them.
He gave them an arse chewin and told them the life history of sturgeon.
They flipped him crap when they left, so he took photos of them and their car and called the po-po.

Then it got dark, I had to come home. :sry:

I fish away from the crowd. I don't use lead so i don't lose it.

Talked with an older guy at lunch today and he said all that was biting this morn was sturgeon. He had been there for 6 hours with out a bite.

I run a spin n glo on a spreader and then 24-30 inches above my spreader i run a barrel swivel with a 10mm bead above it. I cast 15 feet out and when my rock hangs up i slide a dick nite on 24 inches of leader down my line and it stops at the bead. Simple but effective.

I even catch a salmon or steelhead or 2 on my dick nite. In a week or 2 i will switch over to a small #4 red spin n glo on my slider for sockeye.

Nice Job Guys,  I am coming down next weekend to give it a try with a couple buddies.  I hear they are fun to catch if nothing else.
Hunting and fishing season lasts all year.

I have never fished for them before and they were fun to catch. Caught a monster shad and it put up a good fight. I caught 7 and had a few more bites I could not get to stick. i never lost any that i had on. A lot of people were setting the hook way to hard and ripping right out of them. I learned a few trick. If you don't hook one in the first part of cast, threw the drift. Reel in quick or you will loose gear. I never caught any after the swing and first few feet. But lost a few jigs trying to fish all the way to the bank. Watch out for the sturegon! They are all over the place and trying to steal shad off stringers lol.
