Alaska Moose in September!
« on: June 20, 2011, 10:41:59 AM »
I'm lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel to Alaska this September with a couple really good hunting buddies.  We'll be after moose east out of Fairbanks and I CAN NOT WAIT!!  Anyone have any hunting stories or pics from their Alaska trips?

Very cool bearhunter!  I'll be there the 2nd - 11th at my buddy's uncle's place.  He's lived there forever and we decided this year was the year to finally take him up on his offer to come join them at moose camp.  I had honestly wanted to start bowhunting this year, but this moose hunt obviously took precedence.  Threw in for a cow elk muzzleloader tag here and drew that though, so 3 weeks after I get home from Alaska I'll be chasing elk around Central WA.  Should be a great fall!

Thank you Wat, will do!

Carp - that is ironically the 2nd reference to crack I've heard today about this trip.  I was talking to my wife about the cow tag I drew as well as the B deer tag, and she finally realized I'll be hunting basically from September 1st through December 31st.  Her reaction was to ask me if I was smoking crack

We drove east of Fairbanks  last summer and fished for Grayling in the China ( Chena) River and had moose crossing between us as we fished! Have fun!
