There are a few down the street from me.  They were in some wildlife movie back in their younger years.  Now when I drive past their fence, I can see them trying to get people's attention to give them bread.  I'm always hoping that during a big storm a tree will fall and knock down the fences, then all the animals will come over to my yard.  Grizzlies, bison, lions....let the safari begin!

I haven't seen them but family has a cabin on Sullivan lake and during the summer the forest service is always putting up flyers warning of grizzly sightings up there. One year they had so many sightings they had closed a few of the trails for awhile. One guy that lives up there was having a grizz coming to his house a couple times a week harassing his place that was 5-6 yrs ago.

Saw one on a ridge with a buddy backpacking in the Sawtooth's, we got a very good look so I am sure of what we were looking at. We didn't camp on the ridge that night as expected and quick footed the remaining 7 miles out that night.

I actually came across a Grizzly up in Skate Creek near the base of Mount Rainier this year. First time seeing one in Washington. He was huge, I had my spotting scope on him as he crossed a small clearing into some timber. It was hard to judge just how massive he was, but a few hours later two deer popped into the same clearing and they looked miniscule compared to the bear that we had seen hrs before. It was definitely the sight of a lifetime. I didn't believe myself that there could be a grizz around Mt. Rainier National Park, but after doing some research, there is a sparse population in the area. Has anyone else seen one around that area?
