Cow elk bedded on I-90
« on: June 07, 2011, 08:43:31 AM »
So sunday morning i went up to elk heights to get my trail cam and so we just past easton when low and behold there is a cow elk bedded in the median on I-90. So the first thing i thought was that it got hit but on our way back it was gone did anyone else see it.

I did not see it, but I've seen several animals, both deer and elk bedded right along the freeway there over the last few years. Never have seen one bedded in the median though...
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

I saw a yealing mulie buck running flat out down the I-90 median just west of sprague lake on sunday. Makes you cringe knowing what carnage may follow.

I did not see that but I have seen a nice buck hanging out in the median there before.  Was this right where you start heading down the hill to cross the river?

I did see a nice bull feeding on the side of 90 on my way to elk heights friday. Just past the lake where the freeway splits. West of easton

:bash: I figured that would happen. I don't mind shooting them, but seeing them plowed by vehicle doesn't seem right.

my trip from cheney to graham and back this weekend i probably saw 5-7 different deer hit. im the same way i dont mind hunting them and shooting them because they are then put to use. having them get hit is such a waste.

Its always a bum deal.  I see at least one elk hit each year on I-90 out here in North Bend.

I've hit two elk on 410 heading east..... One cow, and a 7x8 bull.... I was pretty said about it so I didn't even take pics... One of the biggest bulls I've seen... The same farmer helped us out both times at 3:30 am and 4:15 am 2 years apart...... Within 100 yds of each other..... I've hit about 15 or so BT just between Old Clifton, Lake Flora, and Sunnyslope Rd in Port Orchard.... All before sunrise on my way to work... It sucks but when they pop out in front of you and stop there... Very hard to stop that quick especially with a trailer.... Almost hit a spike bull pulling into elk camp late night before the opener... Damn near wrecked the trailer.... Only spike I saw all season!!!!

I saw a nice mulie buck bedded on the side of Washington pass in the middle of season at probably 9pm, that one was funny.
