Arrived @ the cabin (Pond Orelle co / Elk) last night and there was turkeys on the property and gobbling in the distance. Woke up to see a nice tom in full strut out the living room window. Once the "chores" are done....I'll be on the hunt! :IBCOOL:

Just got back from Little Penn Refuge. Spent a week in Horse Camp. Rained hard first three days. on Wed. a day after the rain stopped there were gobbling every where. Saw none in fields on refuge.  All were in timber. None would come to our calls but several hens came in. They would gobble to us but would not come in. We tried to run and gun them but they stayed out of sight or out of range. Sand Canyon had some across the road at 100 yards but vanished in the thick stuff. lots of whitetail and one moose. There were 2 or 3 in safety zones around the campgrounds. As soon as it started raining Saturday they shut up again.

Only report I can give is that are local tom above town is gobbling his head off. I just don't have the heart to kill him since he is the only one with a few hens. Glad he mad it through the season.

I was sitting out by the fire last night and heard one gobbling behind the house. Looks like he will make it another year.

Just heard one gobbling his head off "proclaiming that season ended" while sitting on my deck at dark tonight.  :chuckle:
