Rainier Hunting Retriever Club 10 Series Singles
« on: June 01, 2011, 11:35:45 PM »
Just want to invite any retriever folks(or anyone interested in seeing some retrievers working) to the Rainier Hunting Retriever Club's annual 10 series singles event on June 11-12. The event will be held at Carlson's K-9 Country Club on Neal rd, Fall City, WA.

A 10 series is a competition consisting of 10 marks.(thrown or live shot birds) Dogs are judged on how accurately they mark the spot of the fall and best line to the bird. All dogs are guaranteed 4 series and a live shot flier. We will be providing a chili-dog lunch. We are accepting donations and ask you to bring an inexpensive side dish to share pot-luck style.

We will be BBQing/tailgating Saturday night. If the weather is good I'm going to get a good bon-fire going down on the river behind my house. Be great to see some of you guys bring your dogs out for some early summer duck retrieving.

PM me if you'd like to sign up and I'll get you the information. We're limiting entries to 60 dogs if I remember correctly.

I thought that was this weekend! Will miss you guys- big congrats to Rocky again- give her a hug for me! I'm off to my best friends daughters graduation party in Kettle Falls this weekend. So far, between dogs and fishing I haven't been home on a weekend in two months......the life!

What about running pups?

I do believe there is some thing going on with pups at the 10 series, I don't remember what it was though, and I do believe any dog can run the 10 serios, niot just dogs for titles.

I am sure Happy will chime in on this, after all, he putting it on  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

I'll check on it. I can't remember if Cindy is doing a puppy stake but, I'm pretty sure we are because someone else was talking about bringing their pup. Either way, come on down and bring your pup. They are all welcome and it is a good opportunity to socialize them and they'll get to see some ducks and hear some gunshots. We'll have plenty of leftover birds on Sunday if you'd like to take some home for training too. We'll probably try to get started around 8-9am Sat. Unless you are entered, no reason to be here that early to watch and hang out.

We have a limited number of spots available. Please PM me as soon as possible if you are planning on attending. We must finalize our live duck order by Wednesday and really need a good count on people/dogs. Rules are junior hunt test. All you gotta do is "pick up the chicken" and your dog must return it to hand. It is a fun environment and competition is very friendly.

How much to run a pup? Mines just not really ready, but I am still thinking of the experience...or walleye fishing...

$40 for members, $50 for non-members. You are guaranteed 5 series and two live fliers. If you make it through the first 5 series with a qualifying score for the 6 and 7th series, you will get another flier. Ducks will be available to take home for training after the day is done and we have a dog count for Sunday.
