the big one and the new little one  i got both have independent legs. the little slik i just picked up is 19" with legs retracted and about 48" fully extended. for what i paid for it, it is perfect. the manfrotto one i have for photo stuff is  huge...has got to be 40" closed up and 10 lbs. probably close to 7' fully extended.  i will not be using this one in the woods for hunting or at the range. thats what the new/used little one is for.

the msrp was $223.85 and i paid $25 for it. the lady said they bought it a couple years ago and never used it. judging by the look of it, i would agree with this. the carry strap is still folded up and wrapped with the little twist-tie thing it came with. craigslist strikes again.
