Snow pack in Gifford Pinchot?
« on: June 13, 2011, 07:33:36 AM »
I was thinking about heading up to Walupt lake this weekend just to see if I could even make it up there yet and if so maybe do a little fishing. Has anyone by any chance been up in that area lately. Is there still a ton of snow? I can usually get in there Memorial weekend, but again this was not a usual winter and spring.

I was up that way June 5th and the snow pack on some roads were still 16 to 18 inches deep mostly around 3000 foot level.  If the road had any tree cover at that level it was almost guaranteed it had snow on it.

When I get home I'll PM you the roads we were on...

Potato Hill Snotel site lists 50" of snow remaining as on this morning.

A buddy of mine and I were going to head up camping this weekend and decided to give it another couple of weeks.  The levels are just to high...
