You need about 10 more in each area to have a good chance :chuckle:

Really I don't think so  I have drawn tags my friend   Elk tag in 98  archery , entiat deer in 01 modern , desert  archery tag in 04 and 06, desert antlerless  modern in 09 and the multi-season tag this year for deer. and two fall turkey tags. I have faith in the system

I think that even with all of your points, you still only have less than a 4% chance of drawing.

Regardless of the amount of points you have, they increase your odds very little.  We're about as random as Idaho!

(Which everyone loves, yet despises our system.  Ironic right?)

It depends on the permit. For hunts with higher numbers of permits, and relatively few applicants, I think the points help a lot. But yeah, with  hunts that have something like 500 applicants for each permit available, your odds with 10 points might be 1/2% better than someone with 1 point.

I really do wish this state had never started the point system. Although for me it is a benefit, since I got in from the very beginning. (until they screwed me last year with spreading points into all the new categories)   :bash:

Yeah, I was talking about the top tier hunts that everyone bellyaches about the draw odds for.  :chuckle:

Well I am not picky and will take just one permit this year. I kind of like only getting one, so you can focus on that hunt versus having multiple permits.

I'm not picky either. I haven't drawn anything since 2008. So even just the 2nd deer tag hunt I applied for would be nice. I figure out of all the hunts I put in for, I have a 33% chance of drawing ONE of them.
