I had that tag two years ago. Great tag but I had crappy weather. Once I found the bulls I was into them every day. It's my fault I did not kill one. Had a good 6X6 at fifty yards and I screwed it up. I will find my maps and get back to you. Can't tell you my secret spot were I had 5 or 6 bulls bugling around me.

Like I said earlier, decide what type of hunting you will be doing. Scout the areas you have interest in and come back here for help. It is better to have an idea if what youare doing and going, then ask for ideas. Peopel are more forth comming with info when people asking for help have some worl=k on there own first.

Here is a start for you.
Conrad meadows is a good area to look, especially if you arre going to hike in, and lost lake area holds elk too butt there are lots of roads in the area.

Coyote,
My brother and I drew that unit and same hunt last year.  We where in the elk everyday, my brother finally shot a 4 x 5 and I failed to connect on several big bulls.  I was up there for 14 days and all in all it was one of the better hunting trips that I have had in this state.

PM me.

My buddy drew that tag 2 yrs ago.  We got wet snow for 2days. Bring extra gear. Get out there now, and scout (take a fishing poll).  Get to know the area. (Conrad Medows)

btw, I hate threads like this. lol  Just in a good mood today.

The best intell your going to get really depends on the weather just as your hunt arives. And guess who goes first?
As a archery hunter, You just shot yourself in the foot....
Were all here for one reason, dont segrogate and stereotype. Ive spent years studing, calling and being different than the off the shelf elk calls. Even proved those methods in the Rimrock unit as well across the street in the Bumping. Time and time again. Ill shoot my Cow or Spike and call Bulls just for fun and prove my own abilities. For when I get a tag like that!

Not trying to be a dik, but you may have just lost the best intell you'll get, come late Sept!
