Lots of sour grapes this time of year! Since I too put in for that tag, but will probably never get drawn, more than happy to share where I have seen moose. If it was me I would spend some time off of Bartlette Rd. just East of the ski lodge off of Flowery Trail Rd. There is a lot of area to hunt in there and I have seen several moose back in there. It's a good place to start. Good luck and congratulations.

Not sour grapes I help alot of guys. (and have an awesome tag this year) but you did not get to read the post that was erased and I dont agree with just tellin someone exactly where to go, what gun to bring, how high to aim, what a moose looks like, how to skin, where to take the meat, and have a guy say I will not share any meat and just want info.   Oh maybe a little bit of sour grapes. :chuckle:  On a further note I think your road is gated now.

That road is open. Just came back from there. If there is a moose standing on that rd. It deserves to be shot. It's a big area back there and going to be a lot of work to find one. It's a good starting point though. I would have IM'd that info like I have to I don't know how many other guys on this site, but getting tired of seeing the nasty comments to a guy asking for a little help. Thought that's what this site was for.

I think what benhuntin was getting at is you should go introduce yourself, do some research and contribute to the site before just posting.......help me, I got a tag and I dont know anything about the area, as one of your first posts.

I on the other hand was just trying to tell you that my buddy would help you for a little meat.  I understand that you want 600lbs of meat for yourself, but thats a lot of meat to pack by yourself. Believe me, if its hot and you shoot a moose very far from the road, you will wish you had help otherwise you will slowly realize all of your meat is spoiling as you make trip after trip trying to get it out.

This isnt a deer and its not going to be two trips out and your done. If you are by yourself, you will probably make eight or more trips.  Anyways enough with my ranting because I dont know anything about that area, so I cant help you out.

Good luck, shoot straight and enjoy it because it should be quite the experience!
