Congrats!  If I go for moose again, it will be with a bow and camera as well!  Good luck, wish I had info on that area.

The cca rd up high and upper mill creek was the best for me when I had the tag last year.

I think Petit Lake area would be worth a look. Quite a bit of sign up there during deer season last year. I hope to get up there this summer at some point. If I do i'll let you know what I see. Good luck with your hunt!

i prefer a ballistic tip and load my own, but you can find high quality bullets over the counter just make sure you check your zero, changing rounds can change the point of impact greatly at distances.

2. He's helped other people before
3. He's done some work himself

Good luck with the hunt! I wish I could help but I'm out of the loop on this one.

You are gonna have a great hunt... If I had that tag I would hunt South Baldy, Kings Lake, and over the top down to the ID border... There's an old fire trail on the east side of S. Baldy that is a good place to look!! Then, down towards the bottom of the east side of S. Baldy is Prime....

Good Luck!  ( I hope I have my unit right...)

PS..I am hunting moose this year too, but in Montana!!!

According to the game regs, I see your tag is good for both 113 Selkirk and 117 49 North areas.  We hunt Whitetails around Usk in 113, and there used to be a lot of pictures of Moose posted in the Usk Cafe, taken in and around the lakes west of Usk in 117.  There might be some good areas in 113, especially up in the area of the CCA roads, but I really don't know.  I'd be scouting both areas, especially 117.  Good luck.  Hope you score a good'un!  Sadly, last year the Usk Cafe was closed down.  :'(

Did you draw the 113 unit ? All of the advice on here so far is NOT for the 113 unit. And most of the advice is coming from guys that live on the westside.

I beg to differ!  The King's Lake area is in 113, as is the CCA Road area off the LeClerk highway.  And, last I looked on a map, Wenatchee was East of the Cascades.

113 and 117 are separate moose units. If you have a tag for 113, you must hunt east of the Pend Orielle River. There are moose throughout the unit, but I like the south end the best too.  :twocents:

Good Luck....

There are Moose throughout the entire Selkirk unit. when I had the tag in 2009 I scouted essentially the entire unit, top to bottom.  I found most  of my sign, and then concentrated my hunting in the middle third of the unit.  CeCeAy road and north would be my suggestion.  I got a good bull that I and most anyone I know would be very pleased with.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

I should have checked further into the regs.  I thought the tag was good for all the special hunts for Moose.  I never apply for special hunts, so I'm not up on the particulars, but I do know that 113 and 117 are two different units, and the Pend Orielle River is the boundary between them.  Not trying to start a flame war, but in my old age, my tolerance for know-it-alls is getting thinner all the time.

No offense taken, Bearpaw.  I always figure any advice you get on the 'net is worth every penny you pay for it.  :chuckle:

There is one thing that bugs me, though:  I always thought a "Personal Attack" was when someone takes after you with a 2x4 or tire iron.  But on the internet, when you disagree with someone, suddenly it's a "Personal Attack"?  On this score, I call bull-  :crap: !  I'm just too old for this modern PC "stuff".  :bash:

What really matters is that MLBowhunting is getting some good advice for his hunt. All the areas mentioned in 113 are good hunting areas that should help him.

Ok, so everybody has to knit pick everything. I don't give a rip. 2,3,4 out of how many ? So what ! There are too many guys on here that have to argue about such minor things. I don't say something to start a friggin' pissing match. Grow up.

Well get your facts straight before you post and there wouldnt be AS much knit picking! :chuckle: We just want to make sure the people asking for help get the right info so they can maximize their success in the field.

At your age, if you're not on it, you better not be too far from it!  :chuckle:  :chuckle:  :chuckle:  :sry:  :chuckle:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"
