Just thought Id post this up for a few that have drawn Toutle Tags. This is pretty much the average type nice bull you will find in the toutle. Good looking bull and a trophy for most!! There are bigger for sure but this will be about the average good bull you will be seing. I wana say this bull grossed 240. Ocasionally you will see bigger in that 260-270 range , a couple in that 270-280 range and maybee one in the 300 range. Good luck and enjoy the tags , memmories forever. It will be a fun hunt!!

Would it be safe to hold out for that big of a bull if a guy had a nooksack tag or would that be considered a trophy for that area  :dunno: nwhunter

I would say that there are a few bigger bulls in the toutle but good luck finding them. That is one of the biggest I have seen taken out of that unit though. nice bull and excellent mount!

Thanks guys, just wanted to bring this post back up for toutle tag holders to see. I have had questions about the quality of bulls in  the unit.

I know that unit very well.  Most of the bulls are in that 5x5 and the tops are turned in.  Some call it the St Helen's twist.  There is a section of the unit that has more 6X6's in it then the rest of the unit but you will have to work for them.

If you are archery hunting you best pick up a game cart or start finding the correct number to call to get security to open the gate up so you can get your animal out quickly. It will be a very fun hunt...

sweet mount.

Does the information of this being about as big as it gets draw anyones mind to poor heard management? A good bull for sure but..........

Great bull and definitely great mount! Getting more excited each day for the hunts to begin.

On a side note - has anyone ran into wolves anywhere here in Washington while hunting? I ran into two a couple years back in the Chiliwist unit while muley hunting. After talking to a rancher there, it seems that the population is growing rapidly and causing some serious damage to livestock as well as the deer.
