Enjoy the LONG drive over there a couple times. bring extra batteries or a charger for your GPS unit that will be on while you aimlessly travel up and down may a mountain road mapping out your hunt on your GPS.Bearpaw sells maps with nice areas to look at also & enjoy the hike, our NW moosies arent swamp rats like the canadian or alaskan moosies.PS: welcome to HW [/quoteDon't wast your money on a map, save it for gas. More moose around then you can shake a stick at. I drew the same tag in '08, lots for fun enjoy the ride.
2007... best hunt of my life... hope you have more success on the hunt than you did on this post!!
If I had the tag I think I would start around Flowery Trail rd area. I saw an absolute monster in there while I was deer hunting a few years back. Saw quite a few others also. Not sure if this helps or not, but like was said above the whole unit holds tons of moose. Good luck with the hunt.

Actually now you have mentioned it ... last year we saw three cows off the FLowery trail rd... It seems like everywhere I hunted turkeys this spring I saw moose sheet everywhere ....
Here are a couple that are worthy of a tag, from 117 last year!
Hunt on the ski resort, I was up there elk hunting and saw some nice bulls. There is a road that you can drive all the way to the top. Also, just north of Chewelah on hwy. 395 look for a road called Immel RD. Take a right on that and then look for Branch Rd. There is some good hunting there and lots of places to check for bulls. Thats where I have seen them, its public land, hope that helps. Good luck!
