OK so who that secures their camera has seen signs of tampering that makes you think someone tried to rip it off but gave up due to your security measures?

Man it would be funny to rig a paintball gun to shoot when the camera is touched :chuckle: Set the cam to video mode :chuckle: man that would be funny.

I seriously think we should do a sting operation. WDFW could set up some cameras in obvious places and just swoop in on the dirt bags. Kind of like "to catch a predator."

What would they call it? Operation Say Cheese? Operation Bear Trap?  :chuckle:

I believe that my camera was tampered with once. Had it in it's bear box lag bolted to a tree. There are a series of pictures where everything in the back ground is shaking hard left-to-right. It was a bright sunny morning so I am certain it wasn't the wind. Never got a picture on a person but I am certain someone was pulling on the box from the sides.

I had my tampered with and I am sure it would have been stolen had it not been for the star screws I used to secure it with.  They were able to get the camera box open and steal the SD card and my catteries, but the camera was fine.  Thats when I started buying lock boxes.  No problems since then, and I have had a few people see them and walk around them.  Not sure if they would have stolen them or were just looking  :dunno:

I usually cable lock my camera's. Except for the other day I couldnt remember where the cables were and i was in a rush to go.  Last Year i Had a big bear rip my camera off the tree and i found it about 10 feet away from the tree on the ground.

I just have a couple of screws and some 9 wire strapping my cam on. Used to chain/lock mine on. Bears busted off my latch for the chain/lock...so its on its last leg anyway.

I waved to a guys camera(s) out in Concrete...I keep waiting to see my ugly mug on here! His were all cabled up and locked on.

True Sportsmen!  that's great...I know there are some out there.  I had a guy wave and do a thumbs up on my camera.  I later saw him in the field...I let him know I got him on my camera and he was thrilled.  It sucks that a few can ruin it for us all.

Haha I walked by one over in the St. Maries area and did the same thing. Guy was probably surprised another person was in that particular area since it was a real steep and pretty brushy spot.

I only strap mine to a tree, but i put it in areas way away from any roads. I figure that most people willing to hike that far are probably true sportsmen.
