I tried to snowshoe up that mountain one year with about 10 feet of snow on the ground to photogrpah them.  Amazing critters.   I got it handed to me.

The bighorns come down to our cabin and get to within 10 yards of our cabin but walk right up to the shed of our neighbors. The neighbors use to put a salt lick out for them but the forest service stopped that a couple years ago after all the problems with the cougars coming down to the cabins. One year they had the babies with them and I had one of the babies eating out of my hand while mom stood right there keeping a close eye on things. I'll see if I can get the pics. from my uncle who snapped a few of it. Beautiful animals. Nice pics.

As of about 5 years ago I fell in love with there ancient high mountain beauty. I hope to some day hunt them, well California bighorn's and maybe a Dall sheep up in Alaska.

I really want to hunt one of those! I guess if you cant shoot one with a rifle you might as well shoot them with a camera. Nice pics.

You can get to within 20 yards sometimes of them. WSU use to have a feed station at the south end of the lake a few yrs ago but I believe they stopped it because the cougar's were starting to follow the bighorn's down there. That's the story I got anyways.
